Join us for our next NRAS Live which will be taking place on Wednesday 26th June at 7pm. This month, we delve into the important role of nutrition and diet when managing a healthy lifestyle living with rheumatoid arthritis. Ailsa will be sitting down with Elena Nikiphorou, Rheumatologist Consultant and Clinical Researcher at King’s Hospital & College in London and patient contributors living with RA . Expect to learn how dietary choices can influence inflammation, alleviate symptoms, and improve overall quality of life for those living with rheumatoid arthritis. We will also be holding a live Q&A session should you want our experts and team to answer any of your questions surrounding this topic.

Dr Nikiphorou completed her medical studies in 2004 at University College London having also obtained a First Class Honours for her Intercalated BSc in Physiology, as well as a British Pharmacological Society Award and a Wellcome Trust Vacation Scholarship for her BSc Research on Mineralocorticoid Receptors.

She is involved in a number of national and international rheumatology societies and initiatives and has been an invited speaker and scientific abstract presenter in several national and international conferences.

After being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 30 and finding a severe lack of support for the RA community, Ailsa founded NRAS in 2001. Having lead the charity for 18 years, she stepped down as CEO and became our National Patient Champion and now regularly appears at conferences and presents to rheumatology teams about our key services.
