Resource Volunteers needed for a University of Birmingham Research Project Eight volunteers required to take part in two research videos Print The Rheumatology Research Group at the University of Birmingham are developing two videos for people who are considering whether or not to take part in a research study about Rheumatoid Arthritis. One video will be about what it’s like to take part in a clinical study/trial. The second will be about what it’s like to have a biopsy of a joint for a research study. They are keen to hear from people with RA about what topics they’d like covered in such videos and what they think about some draft videos previously produced by the Birmingham team. A focus group will take place via Zoom on Monday, 14th June from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and NRAS is helping to recruit volunteers to participate. We are looking for: 4 volunteers who have previously participated in either a clinical study/trial or have had a biopsy of a joint for a research study AND 4 volunteers who have never taken part in clinical study/trial and are nervous about doing so and really don’t like the idea of participating. All volunteers must be comfortable talking to camera and happy for their contributions to be recorded and distributed. If you meet either of the above criteria and would like to take part in the focus group on Monday, 14th June, please email our NRAS Volunteer Co-Ordinator, Naomie Bwalya email@example.com by Monday, 7th June with your name, age, year of RA diagnosis and a brief synopsis of why you feel you meet one of the above criteria for selection. Unfortunately, due to limited staff resource, we will only be able to respond to those volunteers selected for the activity, so if you have not been contacted by Friday, 11th June, you will not have been chosen on this particular occasion, but please do not hesitate to apply for future projects.
