NRAS Membership FAQs Who can join? We offer membership to those aged 18 and over. If you are under 18 and wish to become a Member, please ask a parent or guardian to join on your behalf. Can I sign up over the phone or by post? Yes, simply call us on 01628 823524 (option 1) for Membership to join. You will need to have a credit or debit card or your bank details to set up a direct debit to join over the phone. If you want to join by post, please click here to download a Membership form, complete it, and send it to us at the address on the form with your payment details. Can I buy Membership for someone as a gift? Yes, just select which Membership you would like to gift them, click on ‘Become a Member’ complete the form on the website. When asked ‘Who is this Membership for?’ select the option ‘A gift for someone else’ (family member, friend etc), complete the form and make payment. We will then send them a joining email, and subsequently a Welcome pack. If you want to join by post please click here to download a gift Membership form, complete it, and send it to us at the address on the form with your payment details. How is Gifted membership paid for on renewal? Gifted membership is payable by Direct Debit or recurring card payment and will auto renew annually. Why do you ask so much information on joining, like date of birth* and year of diagnosis? We ask for date of birth to help us to ensure accurate record keeping and data management. We also ask for this and your year of diagnosis to better tailor our services to your needs. If you feel comfortable sharing further information with us such as employment status, ethnicity etc. We can further improve the services and information we are able to offer you. *You also need to be over 18 years old to take out Membership with NRAS. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to join on your behalf. Can I gift aid my Membership? Your membership is eligible for Gift Aid. You can also make an additional donation if you wish when you join, which you can also apply gift aid. If would like to Gift Aid your Membership, please tick the box on the application form. Gift-aiding your membership means that for every £1 you give we can claim an additional 25p from HM Revenue & Customs at no extra cost to you. Please remember it is your responsibility to let us know if you are no longer eligible to gift aid. Can I join as a Lifetime Member? Yes, we offer Lifetime Membership for £600. We will send you an instant confirmation of joining. Following this when your payment has processed (which can take up to 11 working days for direct debits). Once your payment is received, we will send you out a Welcome pack via the email provided. For My RA Complete and Lifetime Members, you will receive our latest edition of the NewsRheum magazine and your welcome gift in the post. If you would prefer to also receive your welcome pack letter in hardcopy, please email membership@nras.org.uk. Is there a Members only section of the Website?
