HM Queen Elizabeth – 1926-2022

08 September 2022

All at NRAS wish to express our deep sorrow at the news of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.  When we heard the news last Thursday evening, we had a major decision to make as to whether to proceed with the Awards and Dinner scheduled for Friday 9th in Windsor. After much discussion we felt that a fitting tribute to Her Majesty’s magnificent life of service to others was for us to proceed with a scaled-down event, acknowledging the NRAS Champions from across the nation.

The Queen was an inspirational Head of State, which is demonstrated by the outpouring of sympathy from across the globe that continues to be expressed. Regardless of your views on the monarchy, there is no disputing that here was a woman with a profound sense of duty, a marvellous sense of humour and who showed immense fortitude and resilience in the face of much hardship throughout her reign. If we could all emulate her values this, I believe would be a true tribute to a life well lived.

As a mark of respect, the NRAS offices will be observing the Bank Holiday on Monday 19th and therefore our offices will be closed as will the Helpline. However, we have a huge amount of information and resources available on our websites www.nras.org.uk or www.jia.org.uk
