NRAS Membership terms and conditions Thank you for joining the NRAS Membership Scheme. The following are our terms and conditions of Membership and you should read them carefully as they set out your rights and obligations as a Member of NRAS (a “Member” or “you” in what follows). These terms and conditions are based on our charitable constitution. Background NRAS (National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society) is a registered charity, numbers 1134859 and SC039721, and will be referred to as “NRAS” or “we” in these terms and conditions. Your details 1: All applications for Membership shall be treated as if the terms of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 and EC Directive 97/7/EC applied for the purposes of cancellation. Accordingly any cancellations in respect of these must be made within seven working days of the application being made. Cancellation must be sent by email to membership@nras.org.uk or by post to NRAS, Suite 3, Beechwood, Grove Business Park, White Waltham, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 3LW , marked for the attention of the Membership Department, or telephone – 01628 823524. 2: You are responsible for informing us of changes to your personal details. 3: All Members agree that email addresses and other personal details provided to NRAS may be used for administrative purposes and to fulfil your NRAS Membership, including distribution of the NRAS Membership magazine and the NRAS Membership e-newsletter. 4: NRAS may send you information about our products / services, surveys or focus groups via email and text message where we feel these would be of interest to you and you have provided your consent to hear from us in this way. 5: We may also send you information about our products / services, surveys or focus groups via post or phone. If you would like us to not contact you in this way then please let us know using the contact details below. 6: You can opt-out of these NRAS Membership communications at any time. 7: If you wish to change how we contact you then please inform us in writing to the Membership Department, NRAS, U Suite 3, Beechwood, Grove Business Park, White Waltham, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 3LW or by email to Membership@nras.org.uk. You can also unsubscribe from NRAS emails via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. 8: If your Membership lapses, we will contact you for a short time to ask whether you would like to re-join our Membership or hear from us about other ways that you can support NRAS’s work. 9: NRAS uses the personal information that you provide to us to deliver our Membership services. We take your privacy seriously and promise to never sell your data. You can find out more about your rights, how we use your personal information and how we keep your details safe and secure by reading our Privacy Policy | NRAS Subscription fees and payment 10: All Members shall pay an annual Membership fee via Direct Debit or recurring card payment. 11: The first year of Membership shall start from the date we receive your completed application form. 12: For Lifetime Membership a one-off Membership fee is payable by credit/debit card or cheque at the rate as set out on the NRAS website. 13: Membership will automatically renew annually unless you advise us at least one month before your renewal date by writing to us at Suite 3, Beechwood, Grove Business Park, White Waltham, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 3LW or by email to Membership@nras.org.uk. In the event that we are not able to collect payment on the date specified as your preferred collection date, your annual Membership will lapse. 14: NRAS reserve the right to withhold Membership rights and benefits at our absolute discretion for any period where your annual Membership fee has not been successfully collected. 15: Membership may be terminated at the discretion of NRAS if a member is considered to be in breach of these terms and conditions. 16: Subject to any statutory right to cancel, all Membership fees are non-refundable once payment has been received. Membership package 17: As a Member of NRAS you are entitled to the benefits as set out on our website. NRAS reserves the right to vary, amend or withdraw these rights and benefits at its sole discretion without notice. 18: Lifetime Members will be entitled to all the benefits of the Lifetime Membership scheme as set out on our website. NRAS reserves the right to vary, amend or withdraw these rights and benefits at its sole discretion. Lifetime Membership is non-transferable and will cease if the Member notifies us in writing they wish to terminate their Lifetime Membership, or upon notification that the Member has died. No refunds will be given. NRAS publications and materials 19: Unless stated otherwise, all publications and materials supplied to Members are the copyright work of NRAS. Members may not reproduce, transmit, distribute, sell or commercially exploit these materials without the prior written consent of NRAS or to the extent expressly permitted by law 20: All information provided by NRAS to Members is on an “as is basis”. Whilst NRAS makes all reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of all such information we cannot guarantee the completeness, quality or non-infringement of third parties rights in relation to these materials. Liability 21: Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by NRAS’s negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. 22: Subject to paragraph 21, in no event shall NRAS be liable to Members or to any other third party for any lost profit, or any special, incidental or consequential damages (however arising, including negligence) arising out of, or in connection with, services, benefits and/or products supplied by NRAS. 23: Subject to paragraph 21, liability under all circumstances shall be limited to the annual Membership fee paid for by the individual concerned. General 24: The rights of a Member are personal and cannot usually be transferred or assigned. 25: Membership rights shall cease on a Member’s death or an individual ceasing to be a Member. 26: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
