Our use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) At NRAS, we use artificial intelligence (AI) carefully and responsibly to support our work and improve how we operate as a charity. We do not put personal, sensitive or confidential data into AI tools, and we do not use AI to automatically translate our materials. Our knowledge and information team also does not publish AI generated health information or evidence. All patient information we share is developed, reviewed and approved by people. We do use AI in a limited and considered way to support our work. This includes helping us improve the clarity and readability of health information, so it is easier to understand and more accessible. For example, We may use tools like Hemingway to make our health information clear and understandable. We also use AI to analyse anonymised data from surveys and studies, such as identifying themes in feedback, using tools like Microsoft Copilot. This helps us learn from people’s experiences without using identifiable data. In addition, AI helps us work more efficiently behind the scenes, supporting everyday tasks so our staff can focus more time on supporting people affected by rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis. We keep our use of AI under review and are committed to transparency, safety and maintaining the high standards our community trusts us to uphold. This statement was updated on 19/05/2026.
