NRAS' Healthcare Champions Awards To celebrate NRAS’ 25th anniversary, we’re bringing back our Healthcare Champions Awards — a chance to shine a light on the amazing rheumatology health professionals who make a real difference to people living with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). Nominate your Champion! What are the Healthcare Champions? NRAS Healthcare Champions are health professionals (individuals or teams) who really look after you. They ensure your care is tailored to your needs, treat you as a whole person, listen closely, and help you make sense of your condition and the options available. They involve you in decisions about your care and guide you through what will happen next. Most importantly, they’re the kind of people who go above and beyond when you need it, to make sure you receive the best possible care. We need your help to find those healthcare professionals who are really championing the cause of people with RA and JIA and who maintain an excellent service despite the challenging healthcare environment, resource pressures and time restrictions. Our Healthcare Champions Awards would not be possible without our sponsor partners. Who can you vote for? When you’re living with RA or JIA, you’ll come across lots of different specialists who support your care. Whether it’s one person or a whole team, any of the following can be nominated as a Healthcare Champion, if they’ve made a real difference to you and/or your loved ones, and you feel they deserve special recognition. You can vote for anyone in your medical team. To give you an idea, here are some examples: Consultant Rheumatologist Rheumatology Specialist Nurse GP, GP surgery or Practice Nurse Pharmacist Podiatrist Occupational Therapist Psychologist Paediatric Specialist Nurse Paediatric Rheumatologist Physiotherapist Surgeon Whole Rheumatology Team Whole Paediatric Rheumatology Team Any other member of your medical team The closing date for nominations is Monday 4th May. From your nominations, our judging panel will choose the winners. We will invite the winning Healthcare Champions, and those of you who successfully nominate them, to attend an awards ceremony in October 2026 in London. We look forward to reading about your healthcare heroes! Ready to nominate? What are the categories? There are 5 categories of award, as follows: 1.
