Patient Information Forum and other charities launch new report on partnership with pharma23 September 2026 ‘Fair Market Value for Charities in Partnership Work’ shares survey findings and calls for fairer, collaborative relationships For immediate release (23 September 2026) A new report from the Patient Information Forum (PIF) and other organisations has called for charities to be able to recover the full cost of work involved in partnership with industry and research funders. The report shares findings from a survey of patient organisations on their experience of partnership working. Carried out earlier this year, it reveals progress since the last survey in 2023. However, inconsistency in payment rates and approach remain. Developed by PIF, Cancer 52, National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) and Arthritis UK along with Health Research Charities Ireland (HRCI) and the Charities Research Involvement Group (CRIG), the report recommends: A minimum entry fee to be paid to a charity working in partnership Equity of payment with healthcare professionals where relevant Market value add-on costs which take into account the ‘brand’ benefits of partnering with charities Fair contracting, with rates agreed at the outset and transparent contracts Consistency in the grant application process to support multi-company funding of projects.
