Webinar: Understanding the safety of biologic treatments for rheumatoid arthritis

The expert speaker for this webinar was Professor Kimme Hyrich, an epidemiologist at The Centre for Musculoskeletal Research at The University of Manchester and a Consultant Rheumatologist at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Prof. Hyrich is the national scientific lead for The British Society for Rheumatology Biologics Register for Rheumatoid Arthritis and The Biologics for Children with Rheumatic Diseases study. In this webinar Professor Hyrich presented an overview of the BSRBR research study that has now been in place for over 18 years, highlighting some of the main research findings on biologic safety that has been found so far from the almost 30,000 people with RA across the UK and outlined plans for how it plans to continue to monitor the safety of new drugs, including biosimilars.
