Membership subscription increase – what’s happening and why?30 October 2026 From 15 December 2026, we are increasing the subscription rates for our membership scheme as follows: My RA Complete – was £25, increasing to £27.99 My RA Digital – was £19, increasing to £20.99 Why have the prices increased? This is not a decision we have taken lightly. We last increased our membership subscription rates in 2023. Since that time, the cost of providing all our services has increased, including the costs of producing our NewsRheum magazine, our monthly e-news and our annual members’ meetings. Inflation means that, like many charities, we need to raise more money each year just to provide the same level of service. Of course, at NRAS we don’t just aim to do what we have always done – we want to make sure we are offering more and better support to people at every stage of their RA or JIA journey. That’s why, for the first time in 3 years, we are asking our members to contribute a little more if they can. What does NRAS spend my membership on? NRAS relies on the generosity of our supporters and donors to fund all our services. To keep our Helpline, Right Start, SMILE e-learning and all our other services running, we need to raise more than £1.5 million every year. As well as covering the costs of your member benefits, your subscription also ensures we can keep answering Helpline calls, providing advice information and online learning, and speaking out whenever people with RA need support. Why is My RA Complete seeing a proportionally larger increase than My RA Digital? Complete Membership includes two print editions of our NewsRheum magazine, and two online members’ meetings every year. As you would expect, it therefore costs us more in printing, paper, postage, and staff time to deliver the Complete Membership benefits, so this is reflected in the new prices. I’d like to cancel my membership/ reduce my additional donation/ switch to Digital Membership to save money We completely understand if this is something you need to do. We ask that you give us 30 days notice, in order to update our systems. This is in line with our published terms and conditions, but if you need to make an immediate change we will do our best to accommodate you. Call us on 01628 823 524 or get in touch by email. Get in touch This is a really bad time of year. Why are you increasing subscriptions just before Christmas? We appreciate that December is an expensive time of year. However, the price increase will only affect you when your annual renewal falls due, and for the majority of members this will not be December. If your renewal is due in December and you hadn’t budgeted for this higher price, you could consider pausing your membership and renewing in spring. Please let us know if you’d like us to arrange this. Get in touch
